For too long now, the Republican party has turned a blind eye to its most undervalued asset, The Union Worker.
The Democratic party has successfully, since the Truman Administration, painted the GOP as a group of Union Busting, Right to Work, Side with Management Fat Cats.
But with the Democratic party struggling to have their candidate identify the hard-working, self sacrificing lifestyles of the Union Worker (see. Arugula comments, West VA comments, Pictures in front of Bentleys etc...) is there an opportunity for McCain-Palin to swoop up at least half of the lot?
Yes.
I propose that John McCain volley another cannon blast (a la Palin) at the Obama camp by opening the arms of the GOP to the backbone of the United States by saying Yes to Unions.
But wait, Republicans have always respected the existence of unions. What they don't want is for the laborer to be oppressed by the Labor Union itself.
The quickest way to Union Oppression is the elimination of the secret ballot format in union voting, which no democrat has yet to stand up against. Historically it can be shown that unions breed laborer intimidation, but with an open ballot system the individual worker is powerless to his union.
If McCain can stand up and speak to the union members of this nation, just like he did with women, he would be able to shore up much needed votes in PA, VA, OH as well as close the books on FL and NC.
So Senator McCain and Governor Palin, get on TV, Radio, and Print and address the Unions Member of the United States. Tell them that you are in favor of labor, as well as tax cuts for all Americans. Tell them you are Pro-Union but only if its accompanied by a secret ballot process within the union. Because if there is one thing a Union Member hates more than Corporate Management, its Union Management... Just ask Todd Palin
